Job Description

Position DescriptionSexual Violence New Brunswick (SVNB) is seeking to fill the position of Project Manager. SVNB has decades of experience in service delivery, equity advocacy, and activism and has emerged as a national leader in improving outcomes for survivors of sexual violence in New Brunswick.Reporting to SVNB’s Director of Strategic Development and working collaboratively with SVNB staff as needed, the Project Manager will oversee the establishment and evaluation of an Independent Legal Advice Plus (ILA +) approach to legal supports for those affected by sexual violence in three NB sites. The ILA+ approach ensures both professional legal advice and/or representation, as well as dedicated, community-based services to provide emotional support, legal information, system navigation, and independent advocacy to ensure the rights of the survivor are being acknowledged and respected.This is a full-time, four-year term position subject to funding, job performance and meeting minimum qualifications. Remote work will be considered although the successful applicant is required to be located in New Brunswick.Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all project activities, including monitoring and reporting on project outcomes
  • Develop and sustain strong collaborative partnerships with government, legal community and community-based partners
  • Conduct research to gather information on best practices in ILA programs, as well as support and advocacy for victims of sexual violence
  • Collaborate with three pilot communities to develop ILA+ program models to best meet the needs and capacity within their community
  • Develop evaluation framework in partnership with project partners and oversee the evaluation of ILA+ program models
  • Identify and respond to training needs required to implement ILA+ program in pilot communities
  • Work closely with pilot communities to implement ILA+ service delivery model and a community of practice
  • Collaborate with Government of New Brunswick and NB community stakeholders to develop sustainable ILA+ programs throughout NB
  • Adhere to the most current SVNB policies
  • Perform other related tasks as needed
Qualifications Related
  • Post-secondary degree in the area of Law, Criminology, Social Work, Social Sciences, Interdisciplinary Studies with a minimum of 3 years experience in project coordination, program development or service delivery management
* Written and spoken competence in French and English is required
  • Knowledge and experience in the field of gender-based violence, particularly violence against women; feminist principles and a demonstrated commitment to the eradication of gender-based violence
  • Commitment to the vision, mission, goals and objectives of SVNB
  • Works from a strength based, participatory approach to community development in NB communities
  • Excellent networking skills and demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with community members, legal organizations and levels of government
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent judgement, attention to detail, and time management skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, facilitation, and organizational skills
  • Experience in developing educational material
  • Excellent analytic, research, evaluation and problem-solving skills
  • Self-directed, takes initiative, creative, and adaptable; able to work in a team and independently
  • Possesses a current Criminal Record Check including a Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Possesses a valid drivers license and has the ability to travel province wide.
