Job Description

Position Overview: *We are looking for a Revenue Analyst to join our team at one of offices in Fredericton or Woodstock, NB, or potentially from a remote home-based location. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting and forecasting one-time and recurring revenue across the residential Internet service business. Xplornet offers services across fibre (FTTH), fixed wireless 4G and 5G services, satellite Internet and value-added services. You will be responsible for reporting and predicting subscriber trends, usage patterns, packages/pricing and revenue performance indicators, among others. You will also work closely with our internal stakeholders to gather requirements, implement a monthly delivery schedule and strive for continuous reduction in variance/error. The Revenue Analyst is also leaned on to provide recommendations to our sales, marketing and finance teams to optimize profitable ARPA/APRU growth.Key responsibilities include:

  • Leverage daily, weekly and monthly reporting to bring visibility to revenue performance versus expectation
  • Present revenue performance and variances in an articulate and actionable form to management and senior leadership
  • Develop SQL queries, reports, Excel models as needed to support objectives of the role
  • complete other studies as assigned to assist the senior manager, the pricing manager and the sales and marketing team
  • Forecast recurring and one-time revenue based on historical, empirical and modeled data
  • Provide support throughout the annual budgeting process
  • Continually advance capabilities of the department to increase forecast accuracy for immediate period and out to the horizon
  • Create and mine market- and customer-based data to provide insight into revenue growth opportunities
  • Assist the sales and marketing team to understand and leverage revenue data to improve business decision making
  • Support the pricing manager with routine and ad hoc pricing analysis
  • Help uncover opportunities for pricing efficiencies, ARPU and revenue growth
  • Develop revenue components for business cases across the sales and marketing team
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • 4-year degree in B.Sc. or B.Ec.
  • Familiarity with annuity revenue stream business model (telecom, insurance, SaaS)
  • Highly proficient knowledge with Excel (model creation, forecasting, database/database integration. scripting, pivots/filter/advanced lookups)
  • Conversant with SQL
  • Asset/not required: statistical software (R or SPSS) and/or business intelligence software (Power BI or Tableau)
  • Working knowledge of other Microsoft office software (PowerPoint, Word)
  • Ability to multi-task and understand competing priorities following through to the completion of assigned projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to clearly and convincingly communicate, both written and oral, with both technical and non-technical internal customers
  • Experience in an analyst or data-oriented business role is preferred
  • Experience in business unit/commercial stream is preferred to finance stream though a commercially-focused FP&A stream is possible fit
  • Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism
  • Keen eye to detail and accuracy
  • Skillful at promoting ideas and interacting positively and with confidence
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize a variety of tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong experience with PC based software analysis including MS Office, SSMS, Visual Basic and related products
