Job Description

The HR Administrator will perform administrative activities to support a smooth operation of the Human Resources team. We are looking for someone with a passion for people and a desire to help give Smith employees a positive work-life experience. You will be an ambassador for our company culture and aren’t afraid to be imaginative. You are the wearer of many hats and as such, you will balance multiple tasks and changing priorities. No two days are the same, and this excites you!What you’ll do

  • Maintain employee records and data administration in our HRIS
  • Manage employee lifecycle, including onboarding and offboarding
  • Manage updates and ensure data integrity in various HR systems
  • Create or compile HR-related summaries and reports
  • Draft employment letters and agreements for new hires, promotions, and other employment changes
  • Support employee engagement by taking a Lead role on our Fun Committee
  • Assist with planning, organizing, (and participating!) in unique company events and activities that encourage social interaction and team building in a virtual model
  • Assist with the execution of our eventual Return to Office Plans
  • Plan all logistics around our quarterly company-wide townhall meetings
  • Perform other related HR Admin duties, as assigned
What we look for
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (bilingualism – English and French – is considered an asset)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing HR administrative support
  • Desire to learn all aspects of the business and have some fun at the same time

  • Basic understanding of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, benefits administration, performance management, and privacy and employment laws
  • Adaptability and capacity to work effectively in a fast-paced environment where priorities change frequently
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and foster long-term relationships
  • Understanding of various HR software systems, like BambooHR and Jobvite
  • Experience in technology companies/environments is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with US and Canadian HR processes
  • Demonstrated initiative, judgment, and maturity, working with confidential information using the utmost discretion, respect, and care
