Job Description

JOB OPPORTUNITY: OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR (DAY SHIFT)We are currently looking for an Operations Supervisor, Securities Transportation (day shift) for our Gatineau branch.We offer:

Your responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize and manage the work of unionized employees;
  • Ensure that staff members comply with policies, administrative procedures, safety rules, collective agreements and government regulations;
  • Act as a resource person for all employees in assigned territory;
  • Collaborates with other supervisors and staff to establish and implement policies, procedures and objectives;
  • Promote safe work practices by conducting safety audits, participating in company safety meetings and meeting with individual staff members;
  • Monitor expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets;
  • Lead investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints;
  • Collaborate with internal or external stakeholders to determine the causes of accidents that occur during transportation and improve safety procedures;
  • Participate in the disciplinary or grievance process;
  • Any other related duties.
Your Profile:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in personnel management in a unionized environment;
  • Bilingual;
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook;
  • Valid drivers license with a good driving record;
  • Possession of a firearms acquisition permit (an asset);
  • Very good leadership, negotiation, and judgment skills;
  • Strong teamwork and partnership orientation;
  • Sense of urgency, exceptional communication and problem solving skills;
  • Critical thinking and active listening skills developed.
