Job Description

Site Manager (Aylmer Location) Who We AreCash for Trash is a metal recycling/supply chain company that is focused on responsible recycling strategies. We are dedicated to reducing the carbon footprint by being environmentally responsible through the recycling of scrap metal from a range of sources such as end-of-life vehicles, demolition & construction, and consumer products; batteries, appliances, aluminum, copper, brass, tin, etc.We are always growing, and actively seeking ambitious individuals with the passion for growth!Job BriefWe are seeking a candidate to fill the role of Site Manager for our Aylmer, Quebec, yard. The Site Manager is responsible for all activities including planning, maintenance, staffing, training and operation associated with the safe and efficient functioning of the site.Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversees ferrous, non-ferrous, dispatching and maintenance/purchasing departments;
  • Provide oversight and direction to the employees in the operating unit in accordance with the company's policies and procedures;
  • Ability to grade and price scrap; may pay customers as needed;
  • Maintains excellent relationships with both commercial and peddler customers;
  • Maintains company safety and environmental objectives and standards;
  • Supervises building and equipment maintenance and replacement needs;
  • Manages cost and expenditures; takes action to meet or exceed budgeted targets for yard volume, net profit and ROI;
  • Prepares and monitors annual budgets and monthly operating reports;
  • Occasionally may operate yard equipment, perform light equipment maintenance etc.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned or directed;
QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a departmentally related field; or
  • A degree or diploma in a relevant discipline combined with 3-4 years of related work experience;
Knowledge and Skills
  • At 3-5 years experience in the scrap industry or related field;
  • Bilingual required;
  • At least 3-5 years of leadership experience required;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions;
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced work environment;
  • Computer use and knowledge;
  • Some heavy equipment experience consider an asset;
