Job Description

About PentaWe are an agricultural manufacturer specializing in the production of TMR mixers, spreaders and dump boxes. With over 25 years in business, we’ve proven to be a leader in the development and production of innovative and robust agricultural farm equipment.We have two production facilities in Ontario located in Glencoe and Thamesville. Our products are manufactured in our Glencoe facility and then transported to Thamesville for final assembly and shipping.The OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor to join our leadership team in Glencoe, ON. The successful candidate will oversee our afternoon shift from 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM, Monday through Thursday. The core responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Receiving production targets from the Production Manager; managing the delegation of tasks to production personnel and ensuring proper staffing for all tasks
  • Leading by example; actively participating in the manufacturing or assembly process, learning and working hands-on alongside the employees
  • Assisting the Production Manager with production reporting and assuming management responsibilities in his or her absence
  • Providing feedback to the senior management team to share ideas, improve operations, and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Counselling and correcting improper techniques that affect employee productivity and product quality
  • Serving as the first point of contact for all employee concerns
  • Providing regular performance feedback and effective hands-on training to staff for skill development and growth
  • Initiating disciplinary measures when required and facilitating the dismissal of production employees when prior corrective attempts have failed
  • Participating in the hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees
  • Reviewing and approving employee time off requests; ensuring maximum attendance levels and optimal staffing
  • Assisting in the development and action of employee performance reviews, compensation adjustments, and quarterly bonus discussions
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Has 5+ years of experience in a production / manufacturing environment
  • Has 2+ years of relevant supervisory experience
  • Is an excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Has good general computer operation skills and basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software
  • Is an analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills and decision-making ability
