Job Responsibilities include (but not limited to): · Follow the BGC Grand Manan vision, mission, and core values to create a welcoming model for success.· Demonstrate a professional appearance and code of conduct as set by the BGC Canada.· Maintain strict confidentiality about all aspects of the job and the BGC Grand Manan’s operations.· Act as a positive and nurturing role model and demonstrate positive child guidance.· Promote a positive and inclusive team atmosphere.· Maintain a safe, clean, positive, and inclusive environment where the child can learn and grow.· Positively encourage the child to be engaged in activities while being an active participant (i.e. indoor and outdoor activities, sports, while out in the public, etc.). Full participation in activities with the child is required.· Report any suspected child abuse or neglect to supervisor and follow the protocols.· Support child’s emotional and social development in an active classroom and outdoor setting· Provide child with assistance such as:o Mobile assistance within the classroom, on play structures, and when on outings.o Personal hygiene/toileting care.o Safely lift/transition child to and from wheelchair and motor vehicle, assist with using walker, climbing stairs, and other functions as required.o Monitoring and assisting with eating snacks and meals.o Assistance with dressing.· Encourage the development of communication and language skills.· Work closely with family and child’s support team and maintain an open dialogue with parents and other agencies regarding the child’s participation.· Encourage child to develop independence with mobility and completing developmentally appropriate daily tasks.· Keep records, observations, and information about the child’s development and participation.Job Types: Part-time, CasualSalary: From $16.90 per hourSchedule:
