Job Description

POSITION: Executive DirectorJOB TYPE: Full TimeLOCATION: Grande Prairie, AlbertaJOB SUMMARY:The Agency is assisting Grande Prairie Gymnastics Society in the search for an Executive Director. This leadership role involves overseeing day-to-day operations and guiding the long-term strategic direction of the organization. The Executive Director will be responsible for managing programs and services, collaborating with the Board and employees, and fostering an environment that engages and empowers the team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for promoting community engagement through Grande Prairie Gymnastics Societys programming.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead day-to-day operations and long-term strategic planning
  • Oversee the implementation and delivery of programs and services
  • Work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, Program Manager, Program Coordinators, and Administrative team
  • Develop and manage the annual plan, goals, budget, and program direction
  • Ensure effective management of fiscal, human, and capital resources
  • Engage with diverse team and empower them to exceed expectations
  • Develop successful grant applications (including all reporting requirements) and source new funding opportunities including ongoing stewardship
  • All financial activities in accordance with Canadian accounting standards for not-for-profit organizations
  • Identifying and implementing improvements in business practices which enhance internal controls, create operational efficiencies, and improve service delivery and data governance practices
  • Providing the highest standard of accountability, transparency, reporting and service to all stakeholders, internal and external
  • Develop, implement, and assess; data information system best practices and website, efficiency and effectiveness. Monitor changes in the technology environment
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Business and/or sport and recreation-related post-secondary education
  • A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
  • Previous experience in the non-profit sector considered an asset
  • Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office
  • Experience working on or with a volunteer Board of Directors
  • Outstanding communication skills and strong team player
  • Excellent presentation and group facilitation skills
  • Passion for building culture and community
  • Experience with Sage and Ceridian is an asset
