Job Description

POSITION: Summer Students (Maintenance Services)JOB TYPE: Full TimeWAGE: $20.35/hourLOCATION: Grande Prairie, ABJOB SUMMARY:The Agency is partnering with the Grande Spirit Foundation as they look for Summer Students to join their Maintenance Services team. At the Grande Spirit Foundation, they are committed to providing safe and affordable housing solutions for seniors and low-income families across Northern Rural Alberta. From independent living options to supportive care facilities, they strive to meet the unique needs of our residents with compassion, dignity, and community focus.The Summer Students will hold a 16-week contract starting May 12, 2025, and are responsible for efficiently delivering general grounds and minor upkeep services for assigned maintenance projects.RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Grass cutting and trimming
  • Preparing, planting, and maintaining flowerbeds
  • Garbage cleanup from grounds and parking lot areas
  • Assistance with painting projects
  • Perform minor maintenance in and around units
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • WHMIS, First Aid, and CPR certification preferred
  • Must be able to complete a Criminal Record Check successfully
  • Must have a valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • A genuine interest and empathy for the care of senior citizens and low-income families
  • Knowledge of basic equipment maintenanceamp; be able to physically able to operate maintenance equipment
  • Ability to work with very limited supervision
  • Good communication and organization skills
  • Must be physically fit and able to bend, lift and climb
  • Must be physically able to operate maintenance equipment
