Job Description

As the Estimate Auditor - Physical Damage, you are responsible for completing a thorough audit of physical damage claims to control claims costs.You will be responsible for timely and accurate coaching and communicating with repair facilities, MPI’s business partners. You will requires a solid understanding of auto body repair, parts, estimating standards, repair facility practices and all related MPI policies and physical damage claim estimating business rules. You will require excellent judgment and decision making to ensure appropriate repairs were approved and compliant with business rules, while accounting for fiscal responsibility and proper repair. You will work closely with all stakeholders involved in the physical damage claims process.

  • Perform audits of physical damage claim estimates to ensure compliance to MPI estimating standards, business rules and procedures.
  • Conduct thorough claim reviews of repair facilities that fall below the Earned Approval Limits (EAL) to control claims costs.
  • Review supplements to ensure accuracy of parts and labour requested, and the quality of photos and documentation related to claim details.
  • Review OEM repair procedures to assess quality of repair, and accuracy of procedures as completed by the shop. Refer potential claims to Accredited Repair for inspection.
  • Modify and correct paid claims according to established Estimating Standards, Compliance Rules, and related MPI policies outlined in the Light Vehicle Accreditation Agreement.
  • Create applicable journal notes in CARS or WorkCenter to support review decisions and/or required next steps.
  • Identifyestimating anomalies and reports to management.
  • Execute targeted audits of repair facilities whose performance has been identified as below acceptable limits.
  • Provide support and guidance to the Claims Audit Administrators.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to continuously improve our audit recalibration process.
  • Collaborate with the Shop Relationship Advisors to identify trends in shop behaviour that isn’t recoverable.
  • Journeyperson Certificate (Red Seal) or Certificate of Qualification in Motor Vehicle Body Repairer, Automotive Service Technician, or Truck and Transport Mechanic.
  • Seven years bench experience in autobody repair including one year experience in a customer service capacity.
OR
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ten years of bench experience in autobody repair including one year experience is in a customer service capacity.
  • Platinum status in Estimator or Auto Physical Damage Appraiser role within the I-CAR Gold Class Professionals Designation program, or willingness to complete and maintain designation.
  • Physical damage claims auditing experience is an asset.
