Job Description

Senior Financial AnalystCavendish Farms is a leading producer of frozen food products for retail and foodservice markets throughout Canada, the United States, and around the world. We have state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Our Head office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick and has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston. We are a company that rewards performance and initiative, looking for people who deserve to be recognized.Based out of our head office in Dieppe, New Brunswick, the Senior Financial Analyst is an integral member of a team that is exposed to senior management.The successful candidate will be an analytical thinker, highly motivated, resourceful, and thrive in a fast paced, ever-changing environment. Working closely with other departments across the company, the Senior Financial Analyst will be an active participant in the preparation and analysis of the monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and multi-year strategic plans.Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years relevant work experience
  • Post-secondary education in accounting
  • An accounting designation (CPA) or near completion of the program
  • Strong analytical skills with a high degree of inquisitiveness and attention to detail.
  • Ability to managing tight deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong technical skills with advanced Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with JD Edwards and TM1/Planning Analytics is an asset.
  • Ability to work well independently as well with cross functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in the preparation and analysis of the monthly forecasts, annual budgets, and multi-year strategic plans
  • Providing on-going analysis and insights to leadership and sales through standard reporting and ad-hoc requests for both gross margin and expenses
  • Partnering with various departments to review forecast and budget estimates, critically examining them for reasonableness and accuracy
  • Assisting with the preparation and delivery of management reports explaining forecast and budget variances
