Job Description

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT POSSESS THE REQUIRED CERTIFICATION OR EXPERIENCE.Join Montrose Strength Based Support Services Inc. for contract-based work with children, adolescents, and/or young adults with special needs in a variety of settings - in a clients home, in the community, healthcare environment, the developmental sector, residential & day programs.Montrose Strength Based Support Services is seeking an ideal candidate to start supporting clients in home and in the community. The expectations are as follows:

  • Accompanying the client for activities in the community.
  • Providing a supportive and collaborative environment to assist the family.
Qualifications:
  • University degree/college diploma in a related field (e.g., CYW/CYC, DSW, SSW, BSW) from a recognized public post-secondary institution.
  • Work experience in managing challenging and/or disruptive behaviour, working with individuals in residential, non-residential, child welfare, community, hospital, school, and other settings.
  • Work experience in mental health, as well as any experience working with individuals of all ages with developmental challenges, dual diagnosis, FASD, Autism, and other.
  • First aid/CPR certification
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Police Background Check
  • Ministry-approved Crisis Intervention (UMAB, CPI, BMS)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to take direction from supervisors and team of care
  • Reliability and dedication to the position
  • Experience with data collection an asset
License/Certification:
  • Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • non-violent crisis intervention training
