Job Description

Sales RepresentativeReports To: Sr. Director of Sales and Marketing Date: August 2022Summary: The Sales Representative is responsible for exceeding profitable growth targets for a defined portfolio of customers in their designated geographic market while prospecting and acquiring new customers in that same market. Responsibilities encompass creating business intelligence and reporting, sales tools and technology, lead generation, customer coverage, incentive and promotional planning, sales processes and procedures. This role ensures that CDS Sales Representatives are equipped to continually grow profitable sales over a 1-3 year horizon. The role works cross functionally with all CDS departments, customers and supplier partners to achieve their goals and demands a strong knowledge of the Commercial Construction and Building Restoration markets we serve.Job Duties:

  • Exceed profitable sales targets for designated customer portfolio.
  • Prospect and acquire new customers in defined geographic territory.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and partner with internal CDS team members and external supplier partners to deliver unparalleled customer value.
  • Understand CDS capabilities and value proposition, plan and execute winning go-to-market strategy.
  • Provides analytical support on sales performance, designing, maintaining and reviewing daily, monthly and quarterly sales KPIs and reporting.
  • Champion the utilization of the end-to-end CDS Sales Process and Weekly Activity Outline
  • Monitor the end-to-end Order to Cash process and work cross functionally to continuously improve and sustain efficient execution of the process(s) in order to minimize cycle time and maximize customer experience.
  • Carry out process assessments to identify and eliminate efficiency limiting and time-consuming factors.
  • Maintain profiles on main competitors to CDS in the markets we serve.
  • Conduct research and personal education on appropriate strategies for increasing profitable sales.
  • Prepare and present periodic sales reports to company management to provide information useful in taking key business decisions.
  • Invest time in-market with Sales Representatives and customers to ensure strong knowledge of market factors and what’s working versus not working for the Sales Representatives.
  • Develop and implement solutions effective for improving sales efficiency and performance.
  • Conduct forecast to detect emerging market trends with potential sales opportunities.
  • Other duties and special assignments as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, marketing, or in a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years experience serving the Commercial Construction and Building Restoration industries from a manufacturing and/or distribution standpoint.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales/business development experience in the construction industry.
  • Ability to manage large complex projects from end-to-end.
  • Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in research and analytics.
  • Excellent problem solving skills - belief that anything is possible.
  • Demonstrated leadership and cross functional collaboration skills.
  • Proven process optimization skill set - engineering and establishing sales operations and processes to ensure smooth efficient sales team performance.
  • Encourages and demonstrates a strong focus on delivering for the customer.
  • Demonstrated ability to shift focus as required - multi-tasking.
  • Works well under pressure and delivers on established deadlines.
  • Good organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Fluent in English - verbal and written
Working Conditions:
  • Based out of Industrial Choice Supply in Exeter and Construction Distribution and Supply in London
  • Travel across Ontario required - predominantly Southwestern ON
  • Light to heavy lifting required - Max 60 lbs
  • Overtime as required
