Job Description

The STEVE MARSHALL GROUP is currently seeking an IT Coordinator to join our team. This role encompasses the coordination of IT operations, assistance in managing our IT infrastructure and assets, and providing help desk support to our dealership locations.While building an overall IT strategy for our auto group, you will also have the exciting task of supporting, and working with, each of our dealerships with their local IT requirements. As this is a brand new position, we are looking for an IT professional who can put their stamp on our growing organization.Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Plan, execute, and oversee IT projects, ensuring timely completion within budget. Coordinate with team members, stakeholders, and vendors remotely.
  • Technical Support: Implement remote technical support to employees, addressing issues related to software, hardware, and networks. Ensure high levels of user satisfaction.
  • System Maintenance and Monitoring: Regularly monitor and maintain IT systems and networks to ensure they are functional, secure, and up-to-date. Implement preventive measures to avoid future issues.
  • Security: Implement and manage security measures to protect data and IT infrastructure from cyber threats. Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with IT policies and regulations.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with software and hardware vendors, negotiate contracts, and ensure that the organization is getting the best possible service and value.
  • Training and Guidance: Offer training and guidance to staff on new systems, software, and IT best practices. Develop user manuals and FAQ resources for common issues.
  • Documentation: Implement and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems, configurations, policies, and procedures. Ensure documentation is accessible and up-to-date.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to IT strategic planning. Assess current technologies and recommend improvements or new technologies that align with business goals.
  • Budgeting: Assist in the development and management of the IT budget. Monitor spending and seek cost-effective solutions.
Requirements:
  • A bachelor’s degree, diploma or certificate in computer science or information technology
  • At least 2 years experience in IT support or coordination, with a proven track record of managing IT projects and providing remote support
  • Able to support and troubleshoot Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications
  • Proficient in various IT disciplines, such as network administration, system administration, and cybersecurity. Familiarity with cloud services, databases, and software development is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and communicate with non-technical staff
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to effectively manage your time (75% from your home office / 25% working on site at our dealership locations)
Wage:
  • $70,000-$80,000 per year, depending on experience

Ability to commute/relocate:
  • The ideal candidate will be centrally based in BC, and will be required to spend up to 5 days per month traveling to, and working at, our dealership locations around BC (Campbell River, Courtenay, Surrey, Kelowna, Vernon, Kamloops....and growing!)
