The successful candidate will lead a team dedicated to developing new products and implementing operational changes. You’re a highly organized “do-er” and a stickler for creating good processes, able to manage multiple conflicting priorities. You enjoy being a domain knowledge expert, making manufacturing decisions and communicating technical results with ease. You’re excited about the idea of maintaining and continually improving the quality and performance of Semios’ products, helping growers gain access to safe and effective alternatives to conventional pesticides.What you will do:Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of scientists, researchers, operators, and technicians focused on the development, manufacture, and product operations of our mating disruption product line. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to ensure the successful execution of projects.
  • Research and Development: Oversee the test plan development, implementation, and analysis of field and in-lab trials to evaluate the performance of aerosol mating disruption products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive projects to completion and make tradeoffs based on technical and business risk.
  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and manage project plans and budgets related to manufacturing, product development, and new product introduction. Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Foster collaborations with industry partners and manufacturersto exchange knowledge and best practices.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations to communicate findings, project updates, and technical insights internally and externally.
  • Manufacturing and Quality Assurance: Ensure successful execution of manufacturing processes and projects and identify areas for operational improvement.
RequirementsWe want you to succeed, so you will need:
  • 5+ years managing cross-functional manufacturing or quality projects
  • 3+ years in a managerial role (Hiring, performance management, talent development)
  • Experience developing and managing chemical quality control processes
  • Experience in project or program management
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with a proven track record of figuring out what needs to be done to make something better and taking the initiative to get it done
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
Nice to have:
  • Bachelors or Graduate degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field
  • Experience working in regulated industries
  • Experience working in a business operations function
  • Experience working with supply chain
