Job Description

Junior AccountantDowntown VancouverFull-Time, On-siteReference Number: CAN-BC-NO- 031-070224SUMMARYReporting to the Division Controller, the Junior Accountant is responsible for full cycle accounting, daily cash management, account reconciliations, and a variety of accounting related tasks.EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Participate in completing month-end close under tight reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations.
  • Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, deferred revenue, and accrued expenses with monthly journal entries for amortization and accruals.
  • Assist with month-end inventory validation and data consolidation.
  • Prepare subcontractor settlements along with preparing sales invoices.
  • Reconcile and prepare journal entries for intercompany transactions.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors and prepare data for annual audit requests.
  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable general ledger coding.
  • Maintain schedules for Property, Plant, Equipment and acquisitions, disposals, and depreciation journal entries.
  • Assist in preparing the division’s annual budget and provide ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Perform administrative tasks for the Finance team, including document archives and data extraction.
RequirementsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent excel skills.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting is an asset.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently and work well under tight reporting deadlines.
  • Highly detail oriented and organized.
  • Open to learning about full cycle accounting in a publicly listed company.

  • Post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting
