Responsibility · Preparation and review of audit, review and tax engagements.· Comprehend financial statements and corresponding notes.· Supervise and lead engagement teams.· Verify taxes owed and prepare personal and corporate tax returns (and other tax compliance slips) ensuring compliance with government standards.· Apply knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprise (ASPE) an asset.· Summarize financial status through the collection of information and preparation of balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other relevant reports.· Review documents from third-party sources for audit process.· Provide support to clients and respond to questions and queries in a timely fashion.· Vouch and assess relevance of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and prepaid expenses.· In conjunction with and under the supervision of management, responsible for completion of all aspects of an engagement.· Collaborate with client engagement team prior to commencement of client work to discuss roles and responsibilities, risk areas, materiality, and deadlines.· Mentorship of junior team members, whether as part of a specific engagement team or as a resource within the office.· Build effective working relationships with clients and actively participate in business development through community involvement.What will it take to be successful as a Senior Accountant in PubcoIn order for the Senior Accountant in Pubco to be successful in their role, they should possess the following qualifications and strive for excellence in the skills listed below:· Professional CPA designation· 2-4 years of relevant public accounting experience· 2+ years public company experience· Interest in working with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Knowledge and experience will be considered an asset· Experience working with accounting and tax software such as Caseware, Taxprep, Quickbooks and Simply Accounting considered an asset· Excellent analyticalamp; problem solving skills· An innovative thinker, comfortable in a team and client-focused environment· Strong commitment to excellence and attention to detailPowered by JazzHR
