Job Description

We’re growing! And looking for a passionate, driven and energetic candidate to join our team for the position of Accounting Analyst located in Guelph, Ontario.Job DescriptionLooking for a change We are searching for a thorough, detail oriented and highly proficient Accounting Analyst to join our company and make their mark in a fast-paced, professional and fun environment. The successful Accounting Analyst will be performing professional accounting tasks and analysis of financial data in support of various accounting functions including Property Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Cost Accounting, and General Accounting while supporting our shared goal of creating meaningful value and an exceptional experience for our customers, our people and our communities.What you will be doing:

  • Ensure proper financial records, controls, and reporting for assigned portfolio.
  • Reconcile and maintain a full understanding of all balance sheet and income statements.
  • Prepare detailed variance analysis of revenue and expenses.
  • Complete monthly and quarterly reporting for properties assigned.
  • Set up new tenants and maintain tenant leases in Yardi.
  • Participation in annual budget and year end processes, as required.
  • Complete bank reconciliations, as requested
  • Ensure all GST/HST are reconciled and remitted monthly.
  • Accounts receivable management; review and monitor accounts receivable.Reconcile accounts receivable, tenant ledgers and prepaid rent.
What we look for:
  • A love of all things accounting and the ability to apply accounting theory, principals and techniques.
  • Strong understanding of auditing practices and principles.
  • A fondness for setting up and maintaining spreadsheets and databases (seriously...there are so many spreadsheets) as well as organizing data to prepare reports and financial documentation.
  • Knowledge of commercial and/or retail property management.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in accounting software (i.e. Yardi)
  • Professionalism - it means so many things, but to us its about taking pride in the quality of service we provide to our customers inside and outside the organization.
  • Post-Secondary education in Accounting, Finance or related discipline is required.
  • Accounting designation or working towards a designation is an asset.
  • Two to three years of experience in a related position.
