Your RoleAs the Senior Vessel Operationsamp; Chartering Manager, the successful candidate will oversee and optimize vessel loading operations, fleet tracking, laytime management, and chartering activities. This position is responsible for ensuring efficient vessel scheduling, cost-effective operations, and maintaining strong relationships with vessel owners. Day to Day
  • Maximize load plans for optimal efficiency and monitor operations performance, including Time On Dock and Time In Port.
  • Oversee fleet tracking and provide insights for operational improvements.
  • Negotiate laytime statements and review demurrage to minimize financial exposure and optimize cost management.
  • Maintain accurate port and voyage costings to support budgeting and decision-making.
  • Coordinate vessel timings, communicate with stakeholders, and build strong relationships with direct vessel owners.
  • Collaborate with the terminal operations team to develop and implement standardized tariffs.
  • Analyze Time Charter opportunities and charter ocean vessels directly to meet business needs and ensure efficiency.
  • Review and update Charter Party agreements annually.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in vessel operations, chartering (including Charter Party agreements), and/or shipping logistics.
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations, port operations, and vessel performance metrics.
  • Proficiency in port cost analysis, tariff structuring, and shipping logistics software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to optimize costs and provide actionable insights.
