School District #49 (Central Coast)Posting #T290-22/23September 16, 2022Shearwater Elementary SchoolTemporary (0.2 FTE) Teaching PositionOctober 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023Internal/ExternalThe position may include other assigned duties within the school and starts October 1, 2022 and ends June 30, 2023.Job Competencies:Experience teaching multi-age students;Cognizant of the outcomes and evaluation processes outlined in the provincial IRP’s;Ability to use Performance Standards in Art;Experience planning with teachers and educational assistants;Ability to work as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social, emotional learning difficulties’Committed to individualized and group instruction utilizing a variety of effective strategies and techniques;Strong classroom management skills and excellent interpersonal, organizational and collaborative problem solving skills;Ability to relate well with students, parents and staff members;The ability to apply knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of individual and small group instruction;The ability to apply knowledge of current effective assessment and instructional practices;The ability to adapt curriculum to meet the varying rates, patterns and needs of all students;The ability to plan instructional goals and designate outcomes for all students and to clearly communicate those to learners;The desire and ability to work alongside teacher colleagues when appropriate and contribute collaboratively as a team member.Requirements:Member of the BC College of Teachers;Be willing to submit to a local criminal record check.Preference will be given to candidates who have:Experience in teaching First Nations students at the elementary and secondary levels.Applications containing details of education, relevant experience and references are being accepted until 4pm on September 30, 2022 and should be submitted to:Attention: Ms. Lela WalkusPO Bag 130Hagensborg, BCV0T 1H0Phone: (250) 982-2691Fax: (250) 982-2319Quick Apply
