AbleLiving Services is currently hiring a Community Services Manager to join our AbleLiving Transitional Care Bed Program located in Hagersville. Our transitional care bed program include 20 beds dedicated to individuals transitioning from hospital to the long-term care or back into the community and operates out of the West Haldimand-General Hospital.Interested in bringing your talent to our team Here is what we offer:

Position Summary:This position is responsible for managing all aspects of programs and services within assigned portfolio(s) and location(s); developing, monitoring and evaluating client services and implementing strategies for continuous improvement. Assists with the design and implementation of best-practice, client-responsive programs and services and ensuring established service targets are being met. Assists in the establishment and maintenance of community partnerships. Providing supervision and support to supervisory staff the position ensures excellence in client service provision; oversees and manages the selection, recruitment, training and performance of all staff within scope of responsibility.Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a minimum of five years’ experience in a leadership position; within a non-profit, social service or health care environment are requirements for this position.
  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities and/or seniors within a 24/7 environment preferred.
  • Prior knowledge of the Ontario Health Care system; Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MHLTC); Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA); Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Employment Standards Act are advantageous.
  • Must have the ability to act as a role model and influence others; foster effective team work; and lead by example.
  • Previous experience with development and submission of proposals to potential funding bodies and in the start-up of new programs and services desirable.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite and data base management and have solid analytical; verbal and written communication skills; and report writing skills.
  • A demonstrated ability to deal with a diverse range of people is essential. Must be able to give and take direction and build strong relationships with clients, employees, family members and the general public.
  • Superior problem-solving skills and ability to multi-task effectively are essential.
  • Must be proficient in English (both verbally and in writing); possess a valid driving license; and reliable vehicle.
