The MISSISSAUGAS OF THE CREDIT FIRST NATION is accepting applications for the full time, contract position of Restorative Justice WorkerPOSITION PURPOSE1) To work with the MCFN Governance Committee, Pillar 7, the Peacekeepers Sub-Committee and Peacekeeper Coordinator to assist in the development and implementation of the Peacekeepers Restorative Justice Program.2) Provide MCFN members an avenue for acquiring support and assistance with dispute resolution and crisis management utilizing restorative justice practices reflective of the historical, cultural, and values of the Anishinaabe people. This will also include helping MCFN members who have come into conflict with the law where the conflict is suitable for restorative justice practice.Closing Date: September 15, 2022 @ 12:00 PMContract Term – ASAP – March 31, 2023**Please submit your cover letter, resume, educational qualifications and three current work related references (in addition to the above) when submitting application.REQUIREMENTS

• Education and Experience
•  Post-Secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field (i.e. Criminology, Social Work, Human Resources)
• and one-year experience in a related position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
•  Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
•  Strong attention to detail and ability to work with confidential information;
•  Knowledgeable of restorative principles, practices and application;
•  Group facilitation skills and conflict resolution skills;
•  Awareness of Federal/Provincial legislation and regulations relevant to the position/ scope of work;
•  Keen awareness of issues facing diverse communities;
•  Multi-dimensional thinking, with an awareness of social and cultural needs and/or barriers, as well as a
• holistic view of safety and well-being;
•  Familiarity with programs and services that can support Restorative Justice and Alternative Dispute
• Resolution such as criminal justice, victim services, and social support programs and services;
• Skills/Abilities
•  Ability to work effectively with, and take direction from, the Governance Committee, and Pillar 7;
•  The ability and willingness to make difficult recommendations to the Peacekeepers Sub-Committee in a
• timely manner, demonstrating good judgement, respect for organizational policies, and the Mississaugas
• of the Credit First Nation values;
•  Ability to work independently and are self-motivated
•  Critical thinking skills, including the ability to research, analyze and evaluate and make recommendations
• concerning complex information and ideas;
•  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
•  Highly organized and pragmatic thinker, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work
• effectively at both the process/detail level, as well as the big picture/outcome level;
•  Innovative and creative visionary, with the ability to think outside the box
• Other Requirements
•  Results of a current criminal reference check, including a vulnerable sector screening;
•  Must have a valid driver’s license, insured vehicle and the ability to travel;
•  Restorative Justice Certificate or the willingness to obtain as soon as possible;
•  Safe Food Handler’s certificate or the willingness to obtain as soon as possible;
•  Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends;
• Assets
•  Knowledgeable of the political structures and practices of the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation;
•  Comprehensive understanding of Anishinaabe culture and the seven grandfather teachings;
•  Experience or training in restorative/transformative justice, conflict resolution, advanced facilitation, or a
• community-justice related field;
•  Certification or experience in mediation;
