The Company: Everest has been in business since 1992 and is the leading toy, game, and gift manufacturer and distributor in North America, with our head office located in Ancaster, Ontario.We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, fun, and passionate individual to join our Finance team as a Controller.The Opportunity: Reporting to the Director, Finance the Controller will be responsible for the following:· Develop monthly financial statements in accordance with ASPE;· Be the go-to person for the Finance team to aid their development and growth to achieve the companys goals;· Deploy and create enhancements to the ERP system for all functions working closely with the management team (purchasing, sales, warehousing, etc);· Train different functions of the organization in the EPR system, promoting best practices and effective use;· Assist the Director on operational strategy and roll out plans;· Support the CFO in bank reporting requirements;· Oversight and accuracy of reconciliations, and general inquiries;· Conduct frequent financial reviews of sub-functions of the organization and provide recommendations to management;· Review and reconcile GL accounts;· Investigate discrepancies;· Communication and preparation of documents for audits;· Develop and ensure compliance with controls;· Weekly reporting for sales margins and other various reports;· Daily reporting and analysis of daily sales; and· Other duties as assigned.The Ideal Candidate: · University Degree (preferably Business) and financial designation required, with preference given to a CPA or CMA;· Minimum 2+ years of Accounting experience at a senior associate level within a firm or as a senior analyst in industry is required;· Sage x3 or other Sage ERP experience is an asset;· Must possess excellent analytical skills, with a high attention to detail and focus on accuracy;· Previous experience with ERP, POS systems, and retail operations is an asset;· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;· Ability to learn new concepts quickly and share this knowledge with others;· Ability to work independently and as part of a team;· Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills; and· Must be fluent in English, spoken and written.The Details:
