Job Description

We are a civil construction company based out of Hamilton ON that does road reconstruction and underground infrastructure installations, (Water and sewers), eviornmental projects, in water works, shoreline protections, creek restorations, civil and marine construction.Looking for an equipment operator to join our growing team.MUST have minimum 5 years experience in- Experience working as a heavy equipment operator of excavators 14 ton to 46 ton, dozers, graders, loader, skid steer and backhoe in civil, landscape, earthworks, environmental, and infrastructure (sewers and water) construction.- Experience in working Earthworks: Bulk, Strip, Muck, Footing, Trench, and Topsoil Excavation –Ditching, Backfill, Grading, Hauling and Shoring Services.- Experience in working Heavy Civil: Storm and Sanitary Connection/Installation, Watermain, and Roadworks – Including Asphalt, Curb and Gutter, Sidewalk.Must also be able to

  • Inspect heavy equipment prior to use to ensure that mechanical and safety systems are in good working order
  • Communicate defects or unsafe conditions to supervisor in a timely manner to facilitate prompt correction
  • Understand and follow the approved plan for the current construction project
  • Park the equipment in a safe manner when not in use
  • Fill out and understand an equipment and duty log book
  • Ability to read blueprints, shop drawings and hand sketches
  • Ability to read grade stakes, batter boards, benchmarks and other site grading methods
  • Strong commitment towards health and safety in the workplace.
  • Verbal communication skills, and experience working in a team.
