Posting #:20185Openings Remaining:2Full/Part Time:Full TimeReg/Temp/Casual:RegularUnion:Non-UnionHours of Work:Monday to Friday; daysTime of Day:DaysShift Length:Open Date::11/01/22Closing Date::18/01/22POSITION SUMMARY:Working as part of a member of the SJHH Dovetale (Epic) data team, the Data Analyst plays a critical role in providing internal and external stakeholders with insights necessary for evaluating organizational performance and providing exemplary patient care. The Data Analyst is a detail oriented member of the data team with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. The Data Analyst is responsible for the creation of SQL queries and EPIC reports, metrics and organizational dashboards within parameters defined by the Project Manager and/ or Program Manager. The Data Analyst is also expected to be proficient in MS Excel.The Data Analyst works with minimal supervision, schedules and prioritizes the work assigned to him/her, and is responsible for completing assignments and/or for conducting routine to moderately complex tasks within the Clinical Transformation Project. The Data Analyst may also act as a coach and guide in overseeing the activities of junior team members.QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Health Informatics or recognized equivalent
  • Must be certified in at least 3 of the following Epic 2018 certifications:
    • RPT150 – Reporting Workbench Fundamentals
    • RPT250 – Reporting Workbench Administration
    • RDR100 – Radar
    • RPT300 – Cogito Project Manager
    • RPT100 – Introduction to Crystal Reporting
    • CLR110 – Clarity Data Model Fundamentals
    • CLR130 – Clarity SQL Fundamentals
    • CLR202 – Clarity Data Model - Cadence
    • CLR201 – Clarity Data Model - Grand Central and Prelude
    • CLR205 – Clarity Data Model - EpicCare Ambulatory
    • CLR230 – Shared Clinical Clarity Data Model
    • CLR209 – Clarity Data Model - EpicCare Inpatient
    • CLR212 – Clarity Data Model – ASAP
    • CLR211 – Clarity Data Model - Health Information Management
    • CLR301 – Clarity Data Model - Resolute Hospital Billing
  • Sound SQL and Database knowledge and experience working on queries and reports, and/or sound working knowledge of applications/systems that support client groups, in such areas as Health Care, Pharmaceutical, Finance, Human Resources, Telecommunications, etc., are required.
  • Demonstrated analytical and troubleshooting skills required.

  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication required
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • Clinical background an asset.
  • Ability to effectively translate detail into verbal, written or graphical updates and/or abstracts.

  • Ability to communicate technical procedures in a clear and precise manner to non-technical staff and to communicate effectively with outside vendors/customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Data Analyst is responsible to support data team activities related to the creation of SQL queries, EPIC reports and dashboards, and maintenance of same. Works with minimal supervision, typically assigned to any one or more of the following tasks to complete or to oversee:
  • Coordinates with users and departments to review request specifications and ensure validity of specifications.
  • Identifies information and data requirements necessary to define solutions.
  • Creates accurate queries in a timely manner and Analyzes query results, providing insight to decision makers.
  • Develops test scripts to ensure that queries behave as per the detailed requirements.
  • Collaborates with the data team to configure more complicated queries.
  • Produces internal Data Team action plans regarding assignments they are working on.
  • Builds and maintains EPIC dashboards and reports for users.
  • Developing and implementing data analyses, data collection systems and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Supports the Project Manager in preparing for presentation of queries, metrics, dashboards, and reports.
  • Responsible for the implementation and evaluation of continuous quality improvement
  • Oversees implementation and monitors results on a wide range of quality and operational initiatives, ensuring that they support evidence-based and reflective decision making.
  • Interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques
  • Documentation of requirements gathering and validation with applicable operational and project stakeholders
  • Work alongside operational or project leadership to establish needs
  • Defining new data collection and analysis processes
