We would love for you to join our team!Are you the one we’re looking forWe are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Driver who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment; to our clients, families and each other.The Driver is to ensure that materials and meals are picked up and delivered to the programs in a timely manner and to provide general support to the programs as required.This position is a unionized, permanent, part-time position.Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a high roof extended cargo van to pick up, deliver and unload: prepared meals, donated food items, general donations and supplies to program locations across Hamilton.
  • Must be flexible and willing to adjust schedule and hours as determined by specific needs of the organization.
  • Remain in contact while on deliveries using a company cell phone.
  • Support the organization with various maintenance tasks such as assembling furniture, removing unwanted items and setting up/tearing down at events.
  • Work collaboratively with all staff Promote a positive Customer Service attitude.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the Wesley van, including daily circle checks; checking fluid levels, etc. and notifying the organization when more detailed maintenance is required
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you will bring:
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean drivers abstract.
  • Must be able to manage heavy loads.
  • Flexible with the ability to adapt to a fast paced environment with changing responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of good practices in occupational health and safety and trained in WHMIS.
  • First Aid/CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training.
  • Good communication, planning and problem solving skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
