Job Description

We are currently hiring a Full Time Personal Attendant to join our AbleLiving, York Team! Our York program is a supportive housing program located in Downtown Hamilton in an apartment setting.This program operates 7 days a week and candidates need to be flexible and available for a variety of shifts including days, afternoons, and nights. Position Summary:
  • This position is responsible for providing non-medical personal support services, life-skills support and light housekeeping duties to enable clients to remain in their own homes and live as independently as possible.
  • Duties include assisting clients with personal care, arranging and escorting clients to appointments, and housekeeping services.
  • Personal Support Worker certificate is not required but is considered an asset. We welcome candidates with any previous caregiving experience.
Employment Requirements:
  • High School Diploma
  • Courses relating to personal support services for persons with disabilities or seniors, health & safety, first aid, physical and emotional needs of persons is an asset.
  • Experience providing support for persons with disabilities or seniors on a paid or voluntary basis either in a work setting or through personal life experiences is beneficial.
