We would love for you to join our team!Are you the one we’re looking forWe are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Job and Culinary Coach who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment; to our clients, families and each other.The Job and Culinary Coach will lead all aspects of the Wesley Food Service Training Program, with the goal of increasing employment and labour market skills, particularly among multi-barrier newcomers.This position is a unionized, permanent, full-time position. The rate of pay is $21.89.Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit students from Wesley newcomer programs and other newcomer focused organizations and groups to participate in the Food Service Training Program
  • Plan, lead and facilitate practical training, certification and hands-on experiences for the students at various Wesley locations
  • Provide employment coaching, including resume writing, interviews and job searching
  • Work with the Kitchen Teaching Facilitators for the in-person kitchen experiences
  • Help each student to work towards their personal employment goals
  • Provide exit interviews for each student and referrals to employment or other community programs
  • Support current and former students to secure employment, such as providing references
  • Provide support, encouragement and mentorship to the students in the program
  • Provide administrative support to all areas of the Food Service Training Program
  • Provide coverage for other First Start employees as required
What you will bring:
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Human, Employment, Food Services or related field
  • Experience with planning and leading workshops and one-on-one sessions, ideally related to employment coaching
  • Experience in leading and developing a program
  • Experience providing client-centred services within newcomers
  • Experience in guiding and coaching participants through culinary team building sessions
  • Fluency in a second language relevant to the community
