We would love for you to join our team!Are you the one we’re looking forWe are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Kitchen Teaching Facilitator - Relief who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment; to our clients, families and each other.The Kitchen Teaching Facilitator – Relief is responsible for the preparation of food while meeting the in-kitchen training objectives of the Food Services Training. This position is a unionized, relief position. 1-2 positions available. Weekend availability required.Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage students in preparing food and the safe operation of kitchen equipment
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Follow the permanent Kitchen Teaching Facilitators’ instructions for food preparation
  • Follow Job Coach’s instruction for the training program
  • Clean and sanitize work stations
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously in high quality and in a timely manner
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers
  • Other duties as required
What you will bring:
  • High School Graduate or GED diploma or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2-5 years of operational experience in a high volume kitchen.
  • Graduate from a recognized cooking school such as Culinary Skills, Chef Training, First Start Food Service Training or equivalent an asset
  • Strong knowledge of best practices and all applicable standards and legislation related to the food industry.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills in English and a second language relevant to the community are required.
