Primary functions include procurement, contract development, management & administration, and supply chain distribution. In addition the program supports the procurement needs for all capital and major redevelopment projects and manages formal relationships with GPO's and other strategic alliances including Mohawk Supply Chain Services – a Shared Services Organization providing the hospital’s warehousing and JIT inventory system support, among other services.Position SummaryReporting to the Director, Procurement and Supply Chain, the Manager of Purchasing is an individual with highly developed leadership, negotiation, analytical and communication skills who can think strategically to direct the organization’s procurement functions. Hamilton Health Sciences works collaboratively with both a GPO and an SSO; these relationships are of strategic importance and the Manager will play a key role in supporting information sharing and communication with these supply chain partners. The Manager of Purchasing works to identify opportunities with end-users and suppliers to bring goods and services to the Hospital in the most effective and efficient manner; to lead the procurement team responsible for the development of RFx’s for new initiatives, to evaluate and negotiate contract terms, to oversee vendor management processes and to ensure cost effective acquisition, standardization, use, and disposition of supplies, services, and equipment integral to patient care.
