The ABA Facilitator will assist the roles of the HWCDSB BCBA and the Special Assignment Resource Teacher – ABA with the Functional Behaviour Assessment (FBA) process, supporting school staff with the development and implementation of ABA supports, under the supervision of a HWCDSB BCBA.Details of Function: The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position; it is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties. The ABA Facilitator will support the BCBA and Special Assignment Resource Teacher – ABA, under supervision of a HWCDSB BCBA to:· support and coach school staff in conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA), development and implementation of function-based strategies for students referred to student support services for ABA support;· provide job-embedded professional development to school staff in the use of applied behaviour analysis strategies, functional behaviour assessments, and behaviour support plan development and implementation in the classroom;· model and coach the implementation of function-based strategies for classroom teachers and school teams (for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 students);· support and coach school teams on collecting and summarizing data on the implementation and monitoring of ABA function-based strategies;· participate in case conferences and contribute to the development of the student individual education plan (IEP), as appropriate;· collaborate and work closely with board, school, and community inter-disciplinary teams· participate and, where appropriate, lead various meetings, including but not limited to school, parent, board, community;· participate and, where appropriate, contribute to development and implementation of professional development training to school and system staff in the use of ABA strategies, conducting FBA, and development and implementation of behaviour support plans in the IEP for classroom application;· support school staff in facilitation of skill-building programs, where required (e.g., groups based on PEERS® Curriculum, Connect-the-Dots); and· support staff, where appropriate, in the After-School Skills Development Program (ASSDP) and/or board programs for their development and implementation of ABA strategies.The ABA Facilitator will meet regularly with a HWCDSB BCBA for supervision.Skills: · Understanding and application of principles of ABA (e.g., positive and negative reinforcement);· understanding and demonstration of collecting and analyzing FBA data;· Demonstration of writing objective and measurable target behaviours;· Understanding and demonstration of discrete trial training (DTT);· Understanding and demonstration of prompting methods, prompt fading, and error correction procedures;· Understanding and demonstration of shaping and chaining procedures;· Understanding and demonstration of data collection methods, including but not limited to structured ABC recording and measurable data recording (e.g., frequency, duration, percentage) on programming goals per student;· Understanding and demonstration of fading reinforcement (i.e., reinforcement schedules);· Understanding and demonstration of implementing behaviour support plans and skill building programs;· Demonstrated ability to coach and model implementation of strategies across staffing groups;· Demonstrated ability to use Behavioural Skills Training;· Experience facilitating PEERS® and Children’s Friendship Training (CFT) curriculum;· Experience facilitating parent support programs (e.g., Triple P, PEERS);· Demonstrated leadership and communication skills; and· Experience working and collaborating within a team.Qualifications: · Graduate degree in Psychology, ABA, Education or a related field;· Certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behaviour Analyst (BCaBA) or pursuing international certification and currently registered with approved BACB coursework from a qualifying institution (e.g., Brock University, Western University);· Minimum 3 years of experience working in a clinical setting delivering behaviour analytic interventions under supervision of a BCBA;· Minimum 5 years of experience working with students with behavioural challenges, 1:1 and in small group settings;· Minimum 1year of experience with implementation of comprehensive ABA programming;· Current BMS Certification or equivalent, including practical application experience;· Preference given to individuals who have experience in a school board and experience with telehealth or virtual service delivery.Applicants will require a valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle.Location: · Nicholas Mancini Centre – 44 Hunt Street, Hamilton· Staff will be working in-person in elementary and/or secondary schoolsSalary: Professional Administrative Support Staff (PASS 5)($60,841 - $76,051)Last date for consideration: Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 4:00 p.m.Please include the full posting title within the subject line.
