To learn more about Good Shepherd, visit our website at www.goodshepherdcentres.caThis opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - Senior Support ServicesHow You Will Make an ImpactThe Physiotherapist will support a health equity approach to client care in the delivery of evidence-based interventions for older adults (55yrs+) living in community settings. This will include the assessment of clients #39; physical abilities, making physiotherapy diagnosis, establishing treatment goals with clients based on their diagnoses, developing and implementing physiotherapy treatment plans including therapeutic exercise, manipulations, massage, education, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy and other modalities, as required.The role involves providing evidence-based Physiotherapy interventions, adhering to the standards and regulations of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (OCPTO).Collaboration with the Seniors #39; Support Services intra-disciplinary team is crucial to ensure the provision of quality care. The responsibilities include collecting client and program data as per Good Shepherd and OCPTO standards, evaluating client responses, and documenting all relevant information while maintaining client confidentiality and adhering to privacy legislation.You are able to respond professionally during high-pressure situations, effectively communicate and coordinate care interventions, and provide health-related information and counseling to clients and families.A good working knowledge of relevant equipment and materials is essential, as is the responsibility for follow-up arrangements post-discharge and you have experience in providing coaching and leadership to various team members, including PSWs, OTA/PTA staff, students, and volunteers.Collaboration with internal and external community service providers is key, along with orienting new staff and participating in annual performance reviews. You are also expected to engage in professional development to maintain your license and competence in physiotherapy.Observe all health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulationsWhat You #39;ll Bring to Our Team

  • University Degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited post-secondary institution, required
  • 2+ years #39; experience in various healthcare or community-based settings, experience with adults 55+ an asset
  • A member in good standing with the Ontario College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (OCPO), required
  • A valid Driver #39;s License and access to a vehicle, required
  • Ability to be creative and flexible in achieving desired outcomes, work well in a new and changing environment and promote progressive/innovative thinking as well as team-based care.
  • Demonstration of the values of compassion and respect. Caring for the whole person, maintaining dignity and remain judgement free regardless of any social, gender, or faith-based beliefs or expressions.
  • Excellent organizational skills which enable you to successfully meet the demands of clients in an ever-changing environment
  • Strong leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to collaborate and problem solve collectively to best serve clients.
  • Able to take and remain current in the following mandatory courses: First aid, CPR and any other organizational requirements of training
  • Must be willing to participate in educational advancement within the Seniors #39; Support Services program and the practice of Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience working with PT and other post-secondary students, an asset.
  • Supervise, direct and collaborate with both registered and non- registered members of the care team.
  • Ability to communicate in another second language or French, an asset.
