Job Description

Supervisor, Supply ChainL3HARRIS WESCAM DivisionHamilton, OntarioAbout L3HARRIS WESCAMAs a subsidiary of L3Harris Technologies and within the Integrated Mission Systems Segment, the WESCAM division develops the most advanced optical sensor and targeting systems for global defense and military sectors, National Security, Search & Rescue and Airborne law enforcement agencies. From long-range covert surveillance missions to search and rescue operations, our MX-series systems, and the mission systems solutions they are a part of, produce stabilized high-magnification electro1-optical and infrared images from airborne, marine and ground based platforms, enabling our customers to see first and act first.Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead and organize a team of Buyers who are organized by commodity and supplier synergy.
  • Be an engaged and present leader who is a positive influence on the team and the overall environment of the Supply Chain department.
  • Provide coaching, guidance, technical leadership and training that supports increasing the overall competencies and quality of the team
  • Manage and prioritize team workload and assignments as necessary
  • Provide reporting to leadership on supplier performance, status of projects or recovery plans and specific part status as required.
  • Coach teams through daily review and/or Gemba meetings that set task priority and harmonize efforts across commodities.
  • Ensure that the team is focused on cost/price, delivery and quality of critical materials, parts, supplies, and services to meet contractual requirements in accordance with pre-established processes, while adhering to internal and external customer deadlines.
  • Ensure that the team facilitate and evaluate Engineering Change Notifications to ensure timely implementation and minimize materials obsolescence
  • Travel as necessary to interface with suppliers to negotiate pricing, monitor adherence to contract requirements, and resolve business issues as required. Travel Requirement: up to 10%
  • Set, analyze, and update team performance metrics that support Goal Deployment initiatives and overall business objectives.
  • Ensure conformance to the BPMS and related AS9100 requirements.
  • Ensure that the team is adhering to all Export Control requirements (CGP, ITAR, etc.) in their day to day dealings with Suppliers.
  • Develop and successfully execute procedural changes that improve efficiencies and streamline current processes in accordance with L3H best practices and corporate policies.
Required Capabilities
  • Prior experience managing direct reports and motivating teams towards common goals
  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense manufacturing, and managing complex and international supply channels
  • Demonstrated experience managing high spend portfolios and an overall strong business acumen with proven bottom line results.
  • Experience working with and across multi-disciplined functions such as Engineering, Quality, Configuration Management, Planning and Logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to guide and/or lead on-site supplier assessment/certification audits.
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and ERP systems
Desired Education and Experiences
  • University Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Finance, or other Diploma in a related discipline with 7+ years’ experience in Supply Chain/Procurement.
