For over 30 years, Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton has offered high-quality programs to young children and their families. We operate full-day early learning and childcare centres for infant, toddler and preschool children, as well as extended daycare programs before and after school for kindergarten and school age children in 27 locations throughout the Greater Hamilton Area.We pride ourselves on being a leading childcare organization, committed to high quality programs that are inclusive, accessible, and promote learning and growth.Who are we Looking ForWe are looking for a Supply Educator to compliment our team! What are we Looking ForTo be considered for this role, the right candidate will have the following qualifications:Experience:Minimum 1-year experience working directly with children OR Related experience in a childcare setting, working with school age children (Director Approval Required)Education:Diploma in Early Childhood Education OR diploma in a related fieldCertifications
  • Standard First Aid with CPR level C
  • Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Proof of up to date immunization for TB, Tetanus and MMR
Skills: Demonstrates awareness and knowledge of How Does Learning Happen is an assetCharacteristics
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced
  • Flexible environment with minimal supervision
  • An advocate for diversity, equality, and inclusion
What will you be doingYou will be responsible for the ongoing operation of a high-quality childcare centre for children ages 18 months to 12 years of age. The successful candidate will:
  • Report to the day care centres as assigned to cover for the full time staff
  • Establish goals, plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate experiences to enhance children’s cognitive, physical, social and emotional development in accordance with Ministry of Education’s How Does Learning Happen
  • Maintain a safe, warm, and caring environment in which a high-quality child care program can operate, and maintain professional relationships with Hamilton Wentworth District School Board faculty
