Job Description

SummaryWe are seeking, self-motivated, hardworking focused individuals to be part of our team for the position of Telecommunication Labour.This position entails working outdoors, operating independently and on a crew in the telecommunications industry.Responsibilities

  • Working in a team environment with a crew.
  • Digging holes and trenches, placing conduit, pulling cable, back-filling holes with gravel and soil, etc
  • Site restoration work. (Landscaping)
  • Drive to and from work site locations.
  • Operate equipment and vehicle in a safe manner, ensuring adherence to IMS’ safety program
  • Interact with customers/public in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Working around heavy equipment
  • Use of basic hand tools and gas-powered tools.
  • Work outdoors at the customer location
Requirements - FULL TRAINING PROVIDED
  • Previous experience in landscaping, construction or telecommunications an asset
  • Previous work experience in telecom installation and repair would be an asset
  • Ability to manage a physically demanding position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting, working at heights and in confined spaces
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A positive attitude
  • Self-Motivated, ability to prioritize and organize work with little direction
  • Maintain a valid Ontario driver’s license and provide a driver’s abstract annually
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
Work Conditions
  • Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 75 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions.
