We would love for you to join our team!Are you the one we’re looking forWe are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Ukrainian Support Settlement Worker who demonstrates our values of compassion, accountability, responsiveness and empowerment; to our clients, families and each other.The Ukrainian Support Settlement Worker, working with the Client Support Services program, is responsible for providing case management support to newly arrived Ukrainian Refugees. Staff will each hold a caseload, comprised of individuals and families, which they will assist to integrate into the community.This position is a unionized, temporary, full-time position. The rate of pay is $24.60 per hour.Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome, interact, and support clients accessing the program and be available and approachable to address clients’ needs as they arise.
  • Conduct initial intake and needs assessment. Provide appropriate and client-centred information and referral regarding the various services and resources available in the community.
  • Manage and maintain up-to-date client files, input client data and information into the program database, complete government documents and forms, provide referrals, write case notes, and provide regular follow-up with clients.
  • Conduct regular home visits, and accompany clients to various appointments in the community for different services and resources.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients for services and resources in the community and provide life skills, telephone support, and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Participate in case management meetings with internal staff and external service providers. Coordinate and facilitate program activities as required.
  • Maintain good relationships and collaborate with other internal programs and external service providers to provide support to newly arrived Ukrainians.
  • Work in a team and independently to provide support to newly arrived Ukrainians.
  • Participate in supervision and consultation regularly with the program manager and adhere to the policies and procedures of Wesley.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you will bring:
  • Post-secondary education at a College Diploma level or higher, including studies pertinent to settlement, social services, adult education, community health and /or migration issues.
  • Relevant practical experience working with newcomer families is required. Knowledge of the settlement services and integration process with extensive knowledge of community programs, services, and resources.
  • Advanced knowledge of a second language is an asset: Ukrainian and Russian are strongly preferred. Excellent communication, organization, and coordination skills with Fluency in English (verbal and written) required.
  • Advanced computer skills required in the following programs: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Adobe; any program database.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced environment and high-stress situations. Non-violent crisis intervention and 1st aid/CPR training is required.
