Responsible for the approved corporate maintenance philosophy and identifies and implements tactics and works with the Works Methods and Maintenance Specialist and Utility Performance to ensure consistency and standardization; in corroboration with the Transmission & Distribution Manager, develops the maintenance master plan, master schedule, master resource allocation plan; monitors work against plan; justifies and prepares operating and capital budgets based on the approved plan; benchmarks internally and externally, and establishes and monitors performance indices.Investigates recurring maintenance problems, forced outages and significant equipment failures in collaboration with Long term Asset planning for Diesel, Terminal Station and Gas Turbine operations; in corroboration with Transmission & Distribution Manager responds effectively to emergency situations; monitors and analyses repair history and costs and recommends modifications and upgrades; ensures that equipment and operating standards and procedures are established and followed; manages assets through cost containment/least cost approaches; performs annual audits of maintenance program; documents and communicates significant issues; Works closely with Project and Program Managers on planning and execution of the annual Capital plan ensures the approved corporate safety and health program is implemented and monitored; administers and monitors the Environmental Management System and Safety & Health Plan.Responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and promoting the Corporations Safety and Health Program. Responsible for any environmental aspects of the job and performing work in an environmentally responsible manner.Required Qualifications:A University degree in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or Professional Technologist or Journeyperson Industrial Electrician with considerable experience with an electrical utility. Seven years of progressively responsible and relevant experience in the Electric Utility Industry. The ability to plan, lead, organize, and control work activities in a highly technical environment is required as well as good verbal and written communication skills. Good working knowledge of computerized maintenance program and RCM would be an asset. This position requires a high level of technical, managerial and human relation skills in performing these job functions. The incumbent must possess a good working knowledge of computers with appropriate awareness of various corporate applications as necessary.
