Click Here: The Gibson WayInterestedWe’re looking for an Indigenous Summer Relief Operator to support the terminal operations at our Hardisty, Alberta Facility. The ideal candidate will learn various facets of our Hardisty facility / terminal as they assist with various entry level operational duties in order to obtain a well-rounded and meaningful work experience.What Youll Be Doing
  • Ensure personal safety and follow safe operating procedures for facilities.
  • Maintain current safety training and certification.
  • Learn and become familiar with and follow all Gibson’s EH&S manuals and policies.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Demonstrate competency and follow Standard Operating Procedures, as trained.
  • Complete general upkeep, routine and regularly scheduled maintenance of facilities.
  • Report problems to Supervisor.
  • Perform maintenance and upkeep of vehicles.
  • Perform routine building maintenance.
  • Most of the work is performed in an outdoor environment. Employees must wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by the Company’s safety policies and as required for weather conditions.
  • This position requires physical mobility and able to perform duties at heights and/or near dangerous goods.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment and proactive approach to Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) through participation in all applicable EH&S programs and ensures safe operation of the branch, team or unit and compliance with all Company EH&S policies and procedures.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
What Youll Bring
  • Enrolled in post secondary education.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s license.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Is a motivated team player, capable of managing several concurrent and varied projects.
  • Safety conscious; work in a safe manner at all times.
  • Carry out responsibilities with minimum supervision.
Working Conditions
  • Required skills include the ability to lift, carry and pull up to 50 lbs, effectively work at heights, climb stairs and ladders frequently and walk for 50-60% of the shift which may include walking on uneven surfaces.
  • This job is subject to pre-employment drug and alcohol testing as outlined in Gibson Energys Drug & Alcohol policy.
