Job Description

Daiken North America LTD is seeking a dependable, hard-working Electrician for our Huntsville, ON facility, (formerly Panolam Surface Systems).In this role, you will be a valuable part of our Huntsville teamResponsible for installing, constructing, and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, and systems, primarily within an industrial setting.Maintenance and troubleshooting of existing equipment, while observing the highest standards of safety and quality.Daiken North America LTD seeks reliable, punctual, and team-oriented individuals with the ability to perform physical tasks and work in a collaborative manufacturing environment. Responsibilities:
  • Work to be performed within the guidelines of the “Ontario Electrical Code”, Government Regulations, Daiken #39;s “Current Practices”amp; Healthamp; Safety Policies.
  • Be involved in “Continuous Improvement Projects”.
  • Must be capable of workingamp; troubleshooting on A-B PLCs, and AC/DC drives.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Able to work in a “team” environment.
  • Maintain accurate recordsamp; write/print legibly.
  • Perform repairs on equipment.
  • Identify work order priorities for shutdowns.
  • Strong interpersonalamp; organizational skills.
  • Strong team leadership skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Good computer skills are required.
Specific Targets:
  • Completion of work within budgetary guidelines.
  • Control safety.
  • Track machine availabilityamp; efficiencies.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting electronic system faults.
  • Carrying out electrical maintenance procedures.
  • Tuning equipment and ensuring that adequate controls and safety measures are functional.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience.
  • Industrial Electrician Certification 309A.
  • Electrical Engineering Technologist with 309A would be an asset.
  • Good knowledge of PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Good communication skills in English (verbalamp; written).
  • Working knowledge of Hydraulics and Pneumatic Systems.
  • Able to work at heights using ladders and scissor lifts.
  • Good mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and a team player who is prepared to work on shift.
  • Regularly exposed to noise and temperature changes.
