Formore information on the Town, please visit our website at www.ingersoll.ca.Position Overview: Reporting to the Director of Finance/Treasurer, the Accounts Receivable & Treasury Clerk processesrequests for corporate invoices and sets up Accounts receivable subsidiary accounts. Responsible for all AccountsReceivable filing, statement reconciliations and account inquiries. Provides full assistance in the daily operations of theProperty Tax function including, but not limited to, maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of the tax accounts, theprocessing of daily cash receipts, the banking of funds and the inputting of data. Assists with maintenance of the Town’sdog license files, provides clerical assistance to the Treasury Department and is responsible for primary attendance at thefront counter and receptionist duties related to the Treasury department.The main functions include but are not limited to: Performs daily set up and shut down of work area including the front counter and balances the cash drawer,responds to all inquiries at the front counter including providing general information and receiving payments. Creates new accounts, issues corporate invoices, files, reconciles outstanding accounts, deals with inquiries andcollects outstanding accounts Balances and undertakes computer input of cash receipts and transactions to department files including thebalancing of cash, the preparation of bank deposits and the banking of funds in the Town’s bank accounts on adaily basis, reconciling the Town’s bank accounts on a daily basis Prepares, processes and mails Tax Certificates and Tax Status Reports on a daily basis Responds to Tax inquiries from the general public, lawyers, real estate agents, and property owners in acourteous, accurate and discrete manner Processes title changes on properties in accordance with MPAC’s online listing and lawyers noticesQualifications: Applicants should possess relevant and progressive experience, ideally obtained in aMunicipal/Government setting. Our ideal applicant possesses: Post-secondary College diploma/certification in finance, accounting or business Up to 3 years related experience in accounts receivable, preferably in a government/institutional setting Advanced communication, written, verbal, interpersonal and tactful negotiation skills.
