Job Description

Electrical Engineer (PLC)Canadian Treads, IngersollWe are searching for a highly qualified Electrical Engineer with expertise in PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming to join our team at the Canadian Treads Retread Plant. As a PLC Programming Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, programming, and maintaining PLC-based control systems that optimize our tire retreading processes.Key Responsibilities:System Design and Specification:

  • Collaborate with our production and maintenance teams to design and specify control system architectures tailored to our tire retreading operations.
PLC Selection:
  • Evaluate and select appropriate PLC hardware and components considering the specific demands of our retreading equipment and environmental conditions.
Programming and Logic Development:
  • Develop and implement PLC programs using ladder logic, function block diagrams, or other relevant languages to define precise control logic for tire retreading.
HMI Development:
  • Create intuitive Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI) to enable our operators to monitor and control the retreading process efficiently.
Integration:
  • Configure communication protocols and network connections to seamlessly integrate PLCs with tire inspection systems, curing equipment, and other control devices.
Testing and Troubleshooting:
  • Conduct comprehensive testing, debugging, and troubleshooting to ensure the reliable and consistent performance of our control systems.
Maintenance and Upgrades:
  • Execute routine maintenance tasks, software updates, and necessary hardware repairs to uphold the integrity of our control systems.
Safety Compliance:
  • Implement and oversee safety interlocks and fail-safes in compliance with Canadian safety standards and regulations related to tire retreading.
Documentation:
  • Maintain meticulous technical documentation, including manuals, schematics, and diagrams for efficient system understanding and future improvements.
Optimization and Efficiency:
  • Continuously seek ways to optimize control system performance, minimize energy consumption, and enhance the overall efficiency of our retread plant operations.
Training and Support:
  • Provide training and support to operators and maintenance staff to ensure they can effectively operate and troubleshoot the control systems.
People Component:
  • Leadership Development: Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a positive and motivated work environment. Implement leadership training programs to nurture talent and enhance team performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor #39;s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in PLC programming with proficiency in relevant programming languages (e.g., ladder logic).
  • Solid understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, and actuators.
  • Competence in HMI development for process control.
  • Knowledge of Canadian safety standards and regulations pertaining to industrial automation.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Eagerness to stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master #39;s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Certification in PLC programming or a related area.
  • Experience with PLC brands and models commonly used in tire retreading.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for industrial control systems.
