Fusion Youth Activity and Technology CentreInvites applications for the position of:Music Program StaffFull-Time (35 hours/week)Renewable annual contractThe Fusion Youth Centre is currently seeking a dynamic and talented Music and Recording ArtsProgram Staff member who is passionate about sharing his/her musical and recording artsexpertise with youth through engaging and interactive programming.Joining Fusion’s exceptional team, the Music Program Staff member will create, assess, andimplement youth-targeted musical programming and projects. The incumbent will be expectedto work flexible hours (primarily evenings and weekends) and must demonstrate an ability tolead and mentor youth participants. This position is a one year contract, with opportunity torenew.Specifically, the incumbent will be responsible for: Creating, implementing, and assessing engaging and innovative youth-targeted musicand recording arts programming; including planning schedules for individual lessons andlesson plans for participants Compiling and preparing various daily and ad hoc reports and statistics. Undertaking recruitment and retention activities related to programming participation. Supervising, coaching, and mentoring participating youth. Ensuring the safety and security of all participants; adhering to and enforcing health andsafety policies and procedures and reacting quickly and decisively to all issues thatarise. Organize and implement musical special events. Assisting with the facilitation of various other Fusion programs and special events.QualificationsOur ideal candidate has a strong background and interest in music and the recording arts as itrelates to youth development, is an effective leader, and a positive role model capable ofinvolving and empowering youth ages 10-18.To meet the requirements of the role we are seeking an individual who can meet most of thefollowing requirements: Degree or Diploma in Music and Recording Arts, Music Industry Arts, Media PostProduction or other related area of study OR an equivalent combination of previousexperience and education. Proficiency in professional audio/music production and music lesson delivery Previous experience and demonstrated aptitude for working with and leading youth ages10-18. Previous experience gained in youth recreation and activity programming considered anasset. Willingness and ability to work a flexible schedule to meet programming needs; primarilyweekends and evenings.Candidates will be required to demonstrate their musical aptitude.
