Job Description

Oversee the cleaning and sanitizing of food manufacturing equipment, facilities and utensils in a safe manner while following Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety Policies and Company Procedures.Essential Job Functions/Duties

  • Chemical concentration verification
  • Completion of Customer required sanitation documentation
  • Staff Management- scheduling
  • Payroll Management – tracking, accuracy and completion
  • Chemical Inventory Management
  • Sanitation Equipment - inventory management
  • Attendance at Customer FS/Sanitation Meetings
  • Interaction with customer/CFIA/GFSI Auditors
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues for communication to appropriate maintenance team
  • Training-be able to train staff (new and existing) on chemical handling, sanitation procedures, good sanitation practices, sanitation H&S, general H&S, GMPs, pre-op and self-inspection, use of sanitation equipment and tools, customer SSOPs
  • Cleaning where appropriate or needed (short staffed, etc.)
  • Respond to customer and internal emails professionally
Job Characteristics
  • Consistent 50-hour work week (overtime and holiday work may be required based on Customer production and/or non-daily sanitation scheduling) including weekend work (Saturday and Sunday).
  • This position requires the operation of high pressure washing, scrubbing, and sanitizing
  • Cold, wet environment
  • Some computer work – spreadsheets, payroll, responding to emails
Job Qualifications
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning and sanitation procedures, chemicals, products and equipment
  • Previous commercial/industrial cleaning experience is an asset
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with little management
  • Experience with food safety and HACCP principles
  • Good communication skills and able to work well in a team environment
  • Must work with an attention to detail and take pride in a job well done
  • Familiar with MS Office software (MS Excel, Word), Google Drive, Dropbox
  • Reliable and punctual
  • Own transportation or be willing to share transportation (public transportation not available for all end times)
