Chinook’s Edge School Division (CESD) invites applications from qualified individuals for the position of full-time Accounting Technician at Division Office in Innisfail.The Accounting Technician is a member of our Financial Services team and is responsible for significant contributions to the financial, corporate and business affairs of the division. The successful candidate will be able to provide detailed evidence of:Three or more years’ successful accounting experience within a large organization or corporation;A completed diploma or degree in finance, accounting, business or related field;Advanced technological/analytical skills with great attention to detail;Experience with treating people with respect, kindness, empathy, fairness, and compassion;Working collaboratively and effectively with a wide variety of teams, groups, and external agencies;The ability to assess complex and sensitive situations to determine reasonable solutions and decisions;Working directly with the Treasurer, the Accounting Technician will:Provide support, advice, recommendations, and guidance to others on matters affecting financial services;Propose policies and implement authorized policies and procedures that will result in effective financial planning, management and control of Financial Services;Process accounting payable, accounts receivable;Assist administrators and admin support with understanding of financial communications or issues;Maintain high accounting standards as well as strong relationships with all employees;Assist with the workloads of other members of Financial Services, where needed;Regularly run data queries and prepares both analyses and reports using Excel, Bellamy, and other applications;Advise and serve in a key resource capacity for the Superintendent and Liaison Superintendents;Assist with audits and year-end working papers;Fulfill other duties, consistent with the role of Accounting Technician, as assigned by the Treasurer.We ask that applicants prepare both a cover letter and resume, complete with the names and telephone numbers of three current work related references.
