The Innisfail Health Centre has an Acute Care department with 28 beds, Emergency Department with 10 beds and we also have an Ophthalmology/OR department. The town of Innisfail has a population of 8,000 with surrounding hamlets. Residents have easy access to the downtown and commercial areas, as well as several parks, playgrounds, bike/walking paths, year-round access to lakes, rivers and outdoor recreation. The town has 2 large grocery stores, several restaurants, gas stations, banks, various businesses, churches, several schools, an arena, curling rink, and swimming pool. Within a half-hour drive are three beautiful lakes ideal for camping and fishing and the Red Deer River is 5 minutes away. Red Deer is approximately 25 minutes North of Innisfail and Calgary is approximately 50 minutes South. Please note, this facility provides Long Term Care (LTC) or Designated Supportive Living (DSL) services and by Order of the Chief Medical Officer of Health, many AHS employees are restricted to work only at a single LTC/DSL site for the remainder of the pandemic. Speak to the hiring manager who will confirm if, as the successful candidate in this position, you will be restricted to work at only one LTC/DLS site in Alberta.Description:As a Health Care Aide (HCA), you are responsible for providing personal assistance, supporting activities of daily living and providing comfort and support services to patients (clients, residents) who require short-term assistance or ongoing support. You will work closely with patients, families, and caregivers spanning the continuum of care in home, community or health care facilities. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.
