  • Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.*

Degree equivalency
  • Experience using email and word processing software.
  • Experience caring for, feeding, and handling working animals.

  • Successful completion of a certificate or diploma program from a recognised post-secondary institution, with a specialization in animal science, health or care.
Degree equivalency
  • Experience working in a Kennel environment.
  • Experience using spreadsheet software.

Conditions of employment
  • RCMP Reliability Status security clearance.
  • All employees of the core public administration are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and attest to their vaccination status unless accommodated based on a medical contraindication, religion, or another prohibited ground for discrimination as defined under the Canadian Human Rights Act.
  • Willingness and ability to work irregular hours, including weekends and statutory holidays, on a rotational basis.
  • Willingness and ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to eighty (80) pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license, and an acceptable driver’s abstract.
