Job Description

Dawson Road Maintenance // Are you looking for a chance to be part of something big, something meaningful, something important How about keeping our vital transportation infrastructure — our necessary roads, highways and bridges — safe for B.C. families and businesses!Dawson Road Maintenance operates a diverse fleet of specialized equipment using the latest in technology, including GPS-tracking backed by real-time weather forecasts. From winter snow to avalanches, mud slides or washouts, we work hard to make sure our highways are open and safe for the travelling public.In this role you will be a valued member of the Dawson Road Maintenance, working in a permanent, full-time position Accounts Payable Administrator, reporting to the Director, Finance. This position will help to maintain current accounts and assist with all invoicing functions. Your base location will be in Kamloops, B.C.; however, the Dawson Group embraces distributed work, meaning the successful candidate will have the flexibility to work from home and/or at our office. If working remotely, we require this role to be based in western Canada and to travel semi-regularly to the Kamloops office.WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Acquiring vendor invoices from a variety of sources and ensuring proper entry into approval workflow
  • Working closely with operations to ensure invoice coding is complete and correct
  • Ensuring vendors and employees are paid correctly and remittance information is delivered for all payments made
  • Conducting paper cheque runs and physical mailing as required
  • Responding to vendor inquiries and concerns in a friendly and prompt manner
  • Reconciling bank transaction and vendor statements on a regular recurring basis
  • Preparing and reviewing fuel billing and ensuring uploads are correct
  • Providing ad-hoc reporting as required

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy
  • A customer service focused mind-set
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Experience in accounts payable or data entry is an asset
  • Experience with Sage 300 CRE or Timberscan is an asset
  • Proficiency with a variety of computer applications/software is an asset
