Job Description

  • Serving as the initial point of contact for users, recording and classifying support requests using a ticket management system, providing initial support to users, analyzing the problem and escalating issues when necessary.
  • Providing system-level support of multi-user operating systems, hardware and software tools, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and support to users.
  • Manage Active Directory tasks such as user creation, deletion, permissions, and password resets and configure new computers and applications for deployment.
  • Exchange administration of mailboxes, distribution lists, calendars, and maintain and archive user accounts in Microsoft Exchange.
  • Understanding various hardware, software and network systems, troubleshooting and providing recommendations to address long term re-occurring technical issues where an incident ticket is opened as well as resolving and escalating tickets as required.
  • Accessing platforms such as Microsoft 365, Azure, and other cloud based services like Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Intune, and Autopilot.
  • Windows patch management and testing before deployment of patches.
  • Daily monitoring and initial triage of systems. Where appropriate, escalate issues to Systems Administration.
  • Assisting in providing cost effective stewardship of the IT assets and the financial resources used in providing IT services i.e. asset tracking.
What education and experience is required in order to be successful
  • Bachelor degree or certificate in computer related discipline or equivalent post-secondary education credits.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience in place of formal educational credentials will be considered.
