As the Associate Executive Officer, you will have an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of thousands living in the Interior BC, by playing a key leadership role in a deeply rooted community service organization.Interior Community Services is a registered Charitable CARF accredited social service organization providing support, early intervention and crisis intervention programs, counselling and subsidized housing for children, youth, families and seniors. ICS has been in Kamloops since 1967 and currently has offices in Kamloops and Merritt and programming in Barrière, Gold Trail, the Cariboo and Kootenays. Most recently ICS expanded its food security programming in Kamloops with the opening of the Mt. Paul Community Food Centre. Over 1,000 individuals and families receive services from ICS daily at various stages of their lives, from birth to end of life.About the Job:The Associate Executive Officer plans, organizes, administers, and directs all agency activities, programs, and operations directly or through other reporting managers. They ensure that a high standard of person-based program delivery is maintained and promotes the agency’s activities through contact with the general public, business organizations, government, and members and donors. In the absence of the Executive Officer (EO), the Associate Executive Officer acts as the EO. Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Establishes and implements management and HR polices to support the objectives of the agency including labour relations, hiring, performance appraisal, grievance resolution, and discipline.
  • Oversees the accreditation process. Establishes and ensures all professional, licensing or other accreditation requirements are in place to satisfy legal, regulatory and other requirements.
  • Monitors program outcomes management systems and facilitates staff training on program evaluation and outcomes management.
  • Ensures that all Agency Programs are delivered at the highest standard while ensuring each program is being fiscally responsible and is providing the outcomes expected by our funders.
  • Facilitates agency strategic planning process.
  • Supervises Program Directors.
  • Oversees and ensures risk management policies and procedures are sufficient to protect the agency, employees, and volunteers from liability and other claims.
  • Responds to after hours on-call requests in rotation with the On-Call Managers, as scheduled.

o Five to seven years of progressively more responsible program, managerial, supervisory and financial control experiences in the community social services sectoro Demonstrated working knowledge of community-based programs and services, funding sources, community relations, and deep knowledge of community resources.o Past success working with a Board of Directors, cultivating positive relationships and engagemento Excellent organizational management skills with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives collaborativelyo Aptitude for translating vision, mission, values, and strategic goals to day-to-day activities of the organization and the culture of the agencyo Strong knowledge in proposal writing, fundraising and developing funding channelso Experience and knowledge of financial management, administration and controlo Deep understanding of program development, outcomes management and various service delivery modelso Demonstrated experience and success with accreditation processeso A valid Class 5 driver’s license, safe driving record and access to a reliable vehicleJob Type: Permanent Full-TimeLocation: Kamloops, BCHours of Work: 40 hours per week. Requires flexible availability including evenings and weekends.Salary and Benefits
