Our Bartenders advance their skills by working with one of Kamloops hardest working, dedicated bar team who share a passion for innovative, fresh and LOCAL beverages! As a part of our team, you’ll be the core behind our quest to provide outstanding cocktails and drinks to our guests.Job Specific Tasks

• Bar Responsibilities
• Promptly and accurately prepare beverage orders for servers and guests
• Maintain current BC liquor laws and regulations through the practice of responsible liquor service
• Ensuring all garnishes are fresh and prepared daily
• Complete open daily checklist every shift
• Update spillage tab daily
• Liquor and syrup infusions are prepared using the onsite recipe
• Keep the bar area clean and organized
• General Responsibilities
• Takes food and beverage orders for guests at the bar
• Suggest enhancements to elevate dining experience
• Ask guests if their are any allergies at the table
• Record the order and repeat it back to the guest
• Ring in orders by seat numbers
• Execute proper wine service
• Table Maintenance
• Delivery food by seat number
• Quality check my table after a few bites or after they have tasted a speciality beverage
• Pre-set tables with what guests will need for each course
• Pre-buss tables with any item not in use
• Tables will be clean and ready to go for the next customer in under 5 minutes
• Participate in pre shift and knowing important notes for the day/night
• Maintain guest check average goals
• Say goodbye to every guest that is leaving
• Maintains ROMEOs high cleanliness standards
• Ensuring closing tasks are completed
• Weekly tasks completed
• Take pride in the bar
• Counters declutter, bar tops set with menus, hard liquor bottles displaced neatly, prep station clean and organized

Assisting other staff

• Run food and beverage items when asked by management
• Help service staff complete buffet tear downs and set ups
• Help greet and seat guests
• Help buss and reset tables when asked by management or fellow staff member
• Answering the phone

Hard Skills & Qualifications

• 1-year experience in a similar position
• General math knowledge
• Serving it Right Certification
• Has a full knowledge of all food and beverage items produced and sold from ROMEOs
• Ensures presentation of all food meets and exceeds ROMEOs standards for freshness, appearance and consistency when running food
• Balance all cash and charges at the end of every shift and complete cash drops with supervisor in accordance to ROMEOs protocol
• Protects the establishment by adhering to strict policies on serving alcohol
• Must be committed to maintaining high customer service standards
• Completion of ROMEOs Kitchen + Spirits WorkSafe training
• On time for all shifts ready to work at scheduled times

Payment Structure & Hours Worked

• This position can be full time or part time and is evening, nights & weekend.
• Minimum wage while training (approximately 2 weeks)
• $16 after completion of training
• $17 after 3-month probationary period has been completed
• Vacation Pay: 4% of gross hourly (can be banked or paid out per paycheck)
• Paid Sick Days: 5 per calendar year after your 3-month probationary period
• Portion of tip pool paid out semi monthly based on hours worked
• Service Gratuities
• YMCA Membership available after your 3-month probationary period
• Medical + dental may be available after your 3-month probationary period and applicable based on full time hours
